FAQs

How Does Therapy Work?

We will work together to gain clarity on your personal goals and values. In helping you acquire more perspective, you will be better equipped to make choices that are in alignment with how you want to live your life. We will identify means through which you have historically coped with difficulty, and create new methods that bring you more ease and happiness. During this process, I will also support you in processing and working through any difficult emotions that may surface. In this manner, we are holistically addressing matters of the heart, mind, and spirit.

What Should I Expect?

Sometimes sessions will feel lighter, sometimes heavier. There’s room for your laughter, tears, anger, shame, excitement, fears. I don’t set an agenda but go by your lead of what is on your mind and of importance to you in the moment. We will talk about the past, present, and future as any of it organically surfaces, and I will help you make important connections about yourself to help you grow and evolve. By making you feel safe and seen, you will find healing and change more easily.

Fees and Insurance

Therapy is an investment in your life, often with unforeseen benefits: the confidence and assertiveness you build due to your increased self worth can creates innumerable opportunities. I am an out-of-network provider, meaning that you will pay me directly for services rendered each week. I provide you with weekly statements for your records and a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company to receive partial or full reimbursement, depending on your insurance plan. You can also use a Healthcare Flexible Spending Account to pay for services. My fee is $350 per session, and I have a limited amount of sliding scale opportunities available.

Figuring Out Your Out-of-Network Benefits

Per your request, my billing administrator can look this up for you.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE OF COSTS

The Federal No Surprises Act went into effect on January 1, 2022 to protect patients from surprise medical bills. As a result, all licensed health providers who offer out of network services are required to post a notice of your “rights and protections against surprise medical bills” on our websites or in our physical offices. As an out-of-network provider, you will know with certainty the cost of each of session, as you will pay me that same fee each week. It is extremely unlikely that you would ever receive a surprise bill from my practice, given that you must sign off on my scheduling and cancellation policy before we begin working together. If you ever have questions or concerns about billing, I would be happy to clarify and provide you clear, accurate information.
