About Me
I'm a clinical psychologist licensed in New York, and the founder and director of Transcendent Self Therapy, a group practice based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I provide individual therapy to adults, supervise clinicians in training, and lead a team of talented therapists—each offering their own unique expertise.
My work is grounded in a deep curiosity about people, culture, and the many facets of identity. I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals as they explore the diverse and evolving ways they express and understand themselves. I specialize in working with artists and those in creative fields, and I find deep personal meaning in creative exploration. Helping others tap into what moves and inspires them is one of the great privileges of my work.
I view therapy as a collaborative, creative healing practice—an evolving dialogue that honors the complexity of being human. I’m continually expanding my perspective on what it means to live authentically and to heal.
My academic and clinical training reflect a strong foundation in both theory and practice. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University, my Doctorate in Psychology from Long Island University, and completed my postdoctoral training at Columbia as well. I’ve trained in a wide range of clinical settings, all accredited by the American Psychological Association.
Beyond my clinical work, I’ve contributed to several publications, including:
Emerging Adults in Therapy: How to Strengthen Your Clinical Competency
LGBTI Asylum Seekers and Refugees from a Legal and Political Perspective: Persecution, Asylum and Integration
A Handbook for the Study of Mental Health: Social Contexts, Theories, and Systems (2nd Edition)
