I’m a clinical psychologist licensed in New York. I provide therapy to adults, I supervise clinicians in training, and I’m also the founder and director of a psychotherapy group practice, Transcendent Self Therapy, based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. You can read more about my staff and their offerings here.

Forever curious about people and cultures, I’m particularly interested in questions related to identity, and enjoy helping patients explore the multitude of ways in which they consider and express themselves. My areas of specialization are working with artists and those in the creative industries. Creative expression and exploration is personally meaningful to me, and I relish in the opportunity to understand what moves others. I strive to ever expand my sense of perspective on what it means to be human, and the ways in which people work to heal. To me, therapy is a creative, collaborative healing practice.

I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University, my Doctorate in Psychology from Long Island University, and my Postdoctoral degree from Columbia University. I have trained in a multitude of settings and all of my education and clinical training have been at sites accredited by the American Psychological Association.

In addition to clinical work, I have written book chapters in the following publications: Emerging Adults in Therapy: How to Strengthen Your Clinical Competency; LGBTI Asylum Seekers and Refugees from a Legal and Political Perspective Persecution, Asylum and Integration ; and A Handbook for the Study of Mental Health: Social Contexts, Theories, and Systems 2nd Edition.
